Highlights From Home for the Holidays

We’re just five short days away from the start of Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) season (!!!), but before I dive into the busyness of season and all things WEF on here, I wanted to do a “take five minutes to just dump photos on the blog” style recap of my fantastic two weeks at home for the holidays!

Highlights included:

  • Spending Christmas day with my immediate family, including my super adorable niece, who came over to my parents’ house decked out in her Santa suit to enjoy her first Christmas.

  • Attempting aerial yoga along with three of the other girls from CrossFit Uncompromised. Friends in the Lititz/Lancaster, Pennsylvania area, I definitely recommend checking out Float Yoga! I was horrendous at it (at one point I adamantly tried to refuse to lift my hands from the ground because I was sure I would fall on my head if I did) but alas I did not at all, and it was SO much fun!! Not something I think I’d do on a regular basis, but I’d definitely have another go at it.
  • Celebrating Christmas with the extended family. Every year at some point following Christmas day and before the New Year, my parents host my mom’s whole side of the family at my dad’s golf course because it’s a central location for most. We don’t all get to get together much outside of this once a year palooza, so it’s always tons of fun to see everyone! (This year we squeezed 28 people into our small dining room there and into the pro shop for gift opening!)

Ringing in the new year with new people in my life. My boyfriend, Justin’s, family spent a long weekend in the Poconos, and he generously invited me to join them which was so much fun! It was great getting to know them and spending time with Justin, annddd he gets bonus points for arranging a trail ride for the two of us and his brother and sister-in-law! Now it’s back to life surrounded by a lot more horses! More to come from WEF soon! 🙂
