Kentucky Derby Bachelorette Weekend!

My Facebook “On This Day” for the second week of May shows that for three consecutive summers I spent that time in Kentucky – but never arriving by the first Saturday in May a.k.a. in time to check the Kentucky Derby off of my life long bucket list!

This past weekend, I got to do just that, and making it way better, it was as part of my good friend Nicole’s bachelorette party!! 😀 Brooke (far left below) came up with the idea and planned an incredible weekend! Photo highlights below!

Posing for pictures before leaving for the Derby

The stunning bride-to-be and reason for our fantastic Kentucky weekend!
We flew into and stayed in Lexington and took a party bus/limo from Lexington to Louisville and back on Saturday.

In the paddock about five hours before the Derby

Just inside Churchill Downs (and I’d already changed out of heels and into Jacks…)
In front of Churchill Downs’ signature twin spires!

College roommates at the finish line <3
Brookie even had these perfect coozies made for the weekend!
On Sunday, we spent the afternoon at Equus Run Vineyards where Brooke had arranged a private tour, lunch and tasting for our group.
The grounds were beautiful, and I learned so much that I never knew about wine!

I’m 99 percent sure I have a wine stain on my teeth in this picture…

Thanks to all the girls for an incredible weekend and to Nicole for letting me be a part of it!! 🙂
