Friday Favorites: Week in Review, Weekend Plans…and a Salad Bowl

This week’s ‘Friday Favorites’ is largely a quick wrap-up of some of my favorite things from this past, jam-packed weekend, one wild card favorite, and one thing I’m extremely looking forward to this weekend!! 🙂

1.) Trying new things – On Friday night, I joined my good friend Katie and her mom for a calligraphy class at Art in a Bottle in Lititz. It was a lot of fun and definitely way more difficult than I anticipated! (I will not be handwriting envelopes any time soon!)

2.) Showering best friends – In less than a month, one of my best friends and college roommates, Nicole, is getting married to her incredible fiance, Pete! I love both of them, and it was so much fun getting to shower Nicole with a luncheon on Saturday afternoon!

College roommates: me, Nicole and Brooke

Nicole’s fantastic matron of honor (and the third roommate of Nicholas Towers Apartment 605 circa 2011-12 😉 ), Brookie selected Arugula Ristorante in Plymouth Meeting for the shower venue, and I highly recommend it for anyone in the area! The food was delicious, and the setting was perfect!

3.) The New Jersey State Half-Marathon – In the final part of the whirlwind weekend, Justin and I drove down to New Jersey to run the New Jersey State Half-Marathon, and I think it was well worth the drive!! The weather was absolutely perfect for running, and the course was fast and flat! I’ll be doing a full recap of the race, so look for that on Monday, but in the meantime…how photogenic of a runner is Justin versus me!? haha

4.) This Salad Chopping Bowl and Chopper – This is easily one of the most random, miscellaneous things that I’ve ever included on a favorites list…At least three days a week this season at WEF, I ate a salad for lunch in the VIP tent – mostly because I was obsessed with how well chopped and blended the salads were and how good they tasted that way…so of course I did the only natural thing for a person to do…I tracked down the exact same salad chopping bowl and chopper that they used and found it to order on Amazon.

So chopped and blended!

5.) KENTUCKY DERBY BACHELORETTE WEEKEND!! – Now, this weekend, I’m off to Kentucky for the Kentucky Derby and Nicole’s bachelorette party!! We’ll be spending all day Saturday at the Derby, followed by a wine tasting/winery lunch on Sunday and a nice evening and dinner in downtown Lexington! So looking forward to a great weekend with some of my favorite people in one of my favorite places! 😀
